Fran WeatherheadFran is an archaeologist by trade, specialising in early wall paintings, which has taken her to some interesting places, such as Romania and Egypt. Wherever she has travelled, she has liked to paint people at work. In 1998 she moved to Cromer, where she is passionate about the local fishing community and inspired by the drama of heaving up the boats, unloading on the slipway and pulling in the catch, all under a constantly changing sky. Fran paints in acrylic onto canvas boards and is influenced by the work of Winslow Homer and Dame Laura Knight. Her work can be seen in galleries around Norfolk and she also exhibits annually as part of Norfolk Open Studios. All the pictures below are available as Fine Art Prints.
